Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at the University of California Davis. She is widely credited with beginning the current research into the study of eyewitness memory, as well as the use of children's victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman has published numerous papers, received many grants and been recognized with several international and national honors. She has provided advice to numerous government agencies and governments around the world about policies and research relating to the care of children who are victims through the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of various professional associations, for example, that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Additionally, she is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
